New York residents who frequently travel along Hudson Valley Road came forward following a recent accident to say that this particular stretch of roadway is highly dangerous. One person posted on social media that the area is known to be a place where many motorists drive at excessive rates of speed. After a recent collision, the mother of one of the drivers involved said that there is evidence that the other driver was taking tight turns in the road way too fast.
Investigators say that, at some point, a man’s vehicle veered into an oncoming lane and directly into the path of another car. The woman’s son was driving that other car. His vehicle wound up going over the top of the vehicle that had come into its path.
1 driver survived, the other did not
Thankfully, the woman said her son survived his injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The man who was behind the wheel of the vehicle that crossed out of its lane suffered fatal injuries in the collision. It is not uncommon for cases like this to lead to litigation.
If the person who causes damage dies a collision
When a person is recovering from a New York car accident, he or she may be faced with many financial challenges, especially if time off work is needed for recovery. When another motorist’s negligence or reckless driving behavior was the cause of the collision that resulted in injury, a recovering victim can seek compensation for damages in a civil court. If the driver who caused the accident died, a personal injury claim can still be filed against his or her estate.
